Geocache Description:

As of Dec. 27. 2014 the cache has been replaced. New items and logbook. Please, please re-hide the cache carefully and completely after finding so it doesn't get re-muggled!

Fleet Admiral William Daniel Leahy (May 6, 1875 to July 20, 1959) was the first U.S. military officer ever to hold the five-star rank in the U.S. armed forces. He was appointed Cheif of Naval Operations in 1937. He retired in 1939. He served as Governor of Puerto Rico 1939-1940. After WWII began he returned to serve his country and became, in effect the first Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He was critical of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He said "In being the first to use it, we had adopted an ethical standard common to the barbarians of the Dark Ages. I was not taught to make war in that fashion, and wars cannot be won by destryong women and children."
Famous quote: "This is the biggest fool thing we have ever done. The bomb will never go off, and I speak as an expert in explosives." Said to President Harry S. Truman, after Vannevar Bush explained how the atomic bomb worked.

Cache is your basic round rubbermaid container wrapped in a black trash bag. Near the road, no need to venture far into the scary woods.

It is filled with cheap and tacky touristy souveniers. Included are also a toy car and a toy airplane (the Navy practices low altitude flying over this location). It would be fun to keep the "tacky souvenier" theme going.

WARNING: I have marked this as a 1.5 (it should really be a 1 for terrain) only because there are nasty stinging nettles in this patch of woods near the cache. Take small children in hand and explain about the painful nettles. The nettles look like harmless blackberry plants... but are not.
