2007 MT HOOD TERRITORY GEOCACHING CONTEST

July 1 - 31, 2007 :: This Geocache will remain a Regular Geocache after the Contest is over.

- ONE OF TEN CACHES -

There are ten Geocaches in this series that forms the Clackamas County Geocache Contest sponsored by the Clackamas County Tourism Development Council (CCTDC).

The Geocache Waypoint Control Numbers for the rest of these Geocaches can be found at www.MtHoodTerritory.com by clicking on the "Suitcase" symbol. That is also where you will find the July 2007 Contest Rules and Information.

The actual Geocaches are all similar and can be identified by the Steel Blue-colored AMMO Cans with a MT Hood Territory Sticker on one side and marked as an "OFFICIAL GEOCACHE" on the other side. Each Cache contains a Log Book and written on the inside bottom of the AMMO Can is a 'CODE WORD' that you record on your Contest Registration Sheet. The Code Word is also printed on white paper that has been laminated and placed in the bottom of the Geocache Container. (The word "CAREFUL" is an example only and is not used in this Contest. There are various items in the Cache that are there for trade. You may leave Travel Bugs, Geocoins are other tradeables in the Cache for the next finders as this will remain a Regular Cache after the Contest is finished. So, carry Trade Items with you. Please try to keep the quality of the Trades as being at or above what you take. This will certainly please the next finder!!

As we anticipate that there will be heavy traffic to find these Geocaches, please practice the very best of Geocaching Ethics. Each of the Caches is placed for relatively easy access and discovery. Therefore it is very important that you be well aware of Muggles and carefully replace the Geocaches after you have found and Logged your find (Don't forget to record the Code Word!).

If you discover any problems with a Geocache, a quick e-mail to ORNITH through my PROFILE on Geocaching.com will be very greatly appreciated by the Geocachers that will come behind you.

In most cases there are TIME CONSTRAINTS on the Caches. That means that there are times when they can be accessed and times when they are OFF LIMITS. Please abide by these times as in many cases they are placed by special permission of the Caretakers of the location where they are located. Thank you.

TIMBER PARK, EASTACADA, OREGON

As you approach Estacada you will be starting on the West Cascades Scenic Route.

This is great Park to enjoy for a Picnic, Walk the Dog, Play Frisbee or a place to stretch your legs on your Geocache Hunt.

When you come off the Highway and turn Right to get to Timber Park -- look to your left, there is a Ranger Station and they have all sorts of literature and for the Kids there are programs that they can start and do as they enjoy the Outdoors. A great place to stop and look around!

Estacada has some great murals that are well worth taking a peek at as you go through town. On the Hill is a new Library that is the Pride of the Town.

There are other Caches in the area for the Geocacher to find. But the most significant Geocache in the area is "The Original Stash Tribute Plaque" that is just outside of town to the West!!
