"Stairway to Heaven" should be reached by taking the stairs, or you may take the alternative route by taking the tram or fenicular.
About 4,500 walkers every month, exercise climbing the hill, in what is considered a sports routine. The record getting to Monserrate's top by walking is 18 minutes. What was your time?
Cache is medium size platic container, well hidden away from the Church. Please respect the flora and fauna.
HISTORY:
Monserrate is a hill that dominates the city center of Bogotá, capital city of Colombia. On the top, 3.152 m above the sea level, there is a church (built in the 17th century) with a shrine, devoted to "El Señor Caído" (The Fallen Lord). It is a pilgrim destination, as well as a touristic attraction. There is also a fine dining restaurant and many smaller touristic facilities. Monserrate can be accessed by aerial tramway, a funicular or by climbing, the preferred way of pilgrims.

Monserrate es una colina que domina el centro de ciudad de Bogotá, ciudad capital de Colombia. En la tapa, 3.152 m sobre el nivel del mar, hay una iglesia (construida en el 17mo siglo) con una capilla, dedicada al "EL Señor Caído" (el señor caído). Es una destinación del peregrino, así como una atracción turística. Hay también un restaurante que cena fino y muchas instalaciones turísticas más pequeñas. Monserrate se puede alcanzar por el tranvía aéreo, un funicular o subiendo, la manera preferida de peregrinos.
