How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

In elementary algebra X is an unknown variable. The Flag_Mtn_Hkrs like this concept as it explains why we still geocache after all these years. It is the X, the unknown and the discovery of the answer.

While out driving in the AZ Outback we came across a neat hill that the Littlest_Hkr said we had to climb. I brought along a cache just in case. We found a great view and a very unique cairn. So we placed the cache.

Please be prepared when attempting this cache as you are very far from help in the AZ Outback. This is undoubtedly rattlesnake habitat so be prepared and cautious.

Leave No Trace Techniques for Geocaching

The essentials of responsible geocaching:

Never bury caches

Never leave food items in a cache

Replace rocks and other natural objects lifted during a search

Find routes that minimize impact

Leave places looking as if the seekers had never been there

Enjoy the cache and have fun. Please replace the cache exactly as found so the next seeker enjoys the same experience.

Most of all, be prepared and careful.
