Geocache Description:

The cache is easy to find and easy for kids to see but the drive to it is the reason for the high rating. From St. George, its about a 90 mile trip on primitive roads to the rim of the Grand Canyon. From Fredonia or Colorado City it about a 60 mile trip. This cache is placed along that route, about 20 miles from Toroweap and near other points of interest.

This cache is a "memorial" to the Cunninghams (Utah Pioneers) near the Arizona Strip. The route is pretty rough and bumpy in certain spots. If you have a high clearance vehicle or jeep that would be better, however we saw regular sedans make it too. Their is no cell phone signal, no services and no telephones. Make sure you have a full tank of gas, bring water and food (you can picnic along the way) and a map of the Arizona Strip. The BLM in St. George has the maps for sale and can give you weather and road conditions too. There are a few campgrounds and a ranger station along the way near the rim. Contents of this Small container cache (old Kodak can) are logbook, pen, keychains, toy turtle, mini screwdriver. Small trade items acceptable. Enjoy the trip!
