Geocache Description:

Welcome to Liberty Pole Hill Park, a place with a little history and a lot of view.

The liberty pole is gone. The plaque commemorating the liberty pole is gone. But this little known park with its great view survives.

The park is the remnant of a natural gathering place for area union soldiers as they prepared to join the Civil War. Its on a high point in Green County, and when flying a flag atop its tall liberty pole, could be seen for miles. Arriving soldiers would meet and camp here as they waited for their regiment to form. Now all that's left to remember that time is the name of the park.

Included in the cache is a disposable camera - please take your picture and leave the camera for the next cacher. I'll post the pictures when the camera is full.
