Geocache Description:

Remember to bring a stick!

Welcome to the sunny Okanagan and the city of Penticton.

Located several miles south of Penticton, this cache is located next to the sometimes very busy Highway 97.

Good parking is available in the area, but please be careful of the highway traffic. I would not recommend children or pets due to the volume of traffic.

If you are Southbound (towards Okanagan Falls), there is gravel parking next to the cache. Please do not attempt a U-turn as the visibility along the highway is quite limited. See alternative parking info below for an area to turn around.

If you are Northbound (towards Penticton), please use the tourist parking area at N49-25.521 W119-36.534 Carefully cross the highway and walk along the shoulder towards the cache. Please be careful due to the volume of traffic on the highway. There is no U-turn available at the tourist parking area, and you must head North towards Penticton. There is no merge lane, so be careful when entering the highway.

Alternative parking is available beside the highway at N49-25.024 W119-36.333 This is a wide gravel area with lots of parking. From here you can walk along the shoulder of the highway to the cache. Please be careful when exiting this area as there can be a lot of traffic on the highway.

Please remember that this area of British Columbia is home to rattlesnakes and scorpions. Watch where you walk and be careful around large rocks and outcroppings. Be aware where you place your hands and feet.

You do not need to climb over or thru the fences in the area to access the cache.

Remember to bring a stick! You will need it!

Please do not tighten the lid on the cache too hard. Seems to stick after awhile. A pair of waterpump pliers from your car can easily loosend the top.

Happy caching!
