Geocache Description:

Cache is NOT at posted coordinates! This is a nice little offset cache in Hobbit's Glen that does nothing more than bring you out to a nice suburban park.


How to Find the Cache:

Park near the Trailhead on Yellow Bell Lane. The cache coordinates will take you to one of the many Tot Lots (swings, monkey bars, etc) that may be found in Columbia parks. You will not have to leave the walking path very far to get to Stage 1.

Within the Tot Lot there will be a post with the numbers "911" on it. Immediately under the emergency contact number will be a placard stating "You are at HRxx". Now that you know where you are, let the two digit number following the letters "HR" be know as AB.


Now the Math!


The degrees and minutes remain remain the same for the solution to the final cache. You only need to find the last two numbers for the latitude and longitude.

87 - AB = Final Latitude (N 39 12. 9 __ __)

32 + AB = Final Longitude (W 076 54.0 __ __)

The final cache is less that 300 yards away, but is off the paved trail a bit. Very minor bushwhacking required. You are looking for a camouflaged tube 6 inches long and 2 inches wide, hidden in a traditional location. While in the neighborhood, check out Sam's Nature Walk; you'll be glad you did!
