You may be asking: “Who is drives?” Let us explain. Drives is a
geocaching team that has placed 100 Famous People caches in the
Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex in less than a year. While all
geocaches are rated 1 to 5 stars, this series is a 5 plus…not
because of the difficulty or the terrain, but because they are so
amazingly fun!!! Our words would be inadequate to explain drives’
famous people caches. But, we highly recommend that you experience
this series if you are ever in the DFW area. In fact, they are
worth a special trip to Texas just to do them. Your caching
enjoyment will start with reading the cache page description
(which, if you look closely enough, will give you clues to find the
cache and also plenty of laughs) and increase as you find some
unique containers at their special locations. You might even meet
some of rkl’s cousins at these locations.
We started finding this series in December 2006, primarily in
the Mesquite, Texas, area. And we now have a section in our caching
museum reserved just for the drives Famous People caches. We may
never get to complete this series (approximately 40 out of 100 to
date in two caching trips), but to complete this series is one of
our goals. Yes, we (you) may have a DNF. But you won’t if you truly
pay attention to the cache page and think outside the box while you
are looking for the cache. This cache is dedicated to drives…David
and Anita…two of the most innovative cachers we know.
