Geocache Description:

A "recycled" cache in New Almaden Quicksilver County Park

A few weeks ago, at the general request of the cache owner, I retrieved the cache container for the final location of The Amazing Race (GCA64C) from this very spot so that the cache owner could archive that multi-cache.

The thought was very slow coming to me at the time to simply reuse/recycle the cache container, along with all of its ample contents (including the original log book), its scenic location, its terrain rating, and to a certain extent (using some poetic license) even its very name! But by the time these thoughts had finally coalesced I was too far away to return that day, so the idea simply had to wait.

Today I decided to hike in New Almaden Quicksilver and to bring the well-labeled and well-stocked container with me.

Unfortunately the combination of fog and low clouds this morning terribly obscured any scenic view, so I didn't take any pictures of the general grey expanse about me. But this can be a very scenic spot to be sure, so I would appreciate it if finders could add a picture of their view with their logs for my pleasure and for the pleasure of other seekers.

And Mr. Geosafety has asked me to note that there is absolutely no need for any strenuous off-trail bush-whacking if you take note of the following observations! From the intersection of the trails at nearby English Camp, seek and take the posted Church Hill trail. Very quickly you will see a well-defined geotrail to your right that will have you pass the nearby old abandoned fenced-off building (not to be confused with the fenced-off lonely chimney further on) on its right. Take that trail and you should be able to find well-used and/or well-defined trails that will safely and easily guide you the rest of the way to the top of Church Hill. From there it is a very short distance to the cache.

Also please respect park hours. (Or I will delete your log!) And please rehide the cache as well or better than you found it!

Enjoy! And happy caching!
