Butterfly Peak Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Cache is located just off an established trail on the peak.
This one is dedicated to the original 50 Year Club Gang, as we spent several weekends hiking the Butterfly Trail.
The cache is an ammo can full of trade items well hidden as to not be accidentally found.
Vehicle parking available at Butterfly Trailhead. Butterfly Trail will lead you into the Crystal Spring Trail. On the butterfly trail, just before reaching the Crystal Springs trail, we located a trail that lead towards a saddle and up to the peak. Exact location where trail splits is unknown, as we hiked and placed the cache in darkness using headlamps & flashlights. I provided a topo map of our approximate path leading to the peak and cache location. Trip from parking lot to peak round trip is about 2.5 miles.
I hope you enjoy the trail as we did several years ago.
Notice: A $8 Forest Service fee or an annual Forest Service pass ($80) is required while stopping along the catalina highway beyond the pay station. Not purchasing a pass and getting caught, will set you back at lots of bucks and spoil your day. It's not worth it, so just purchase a pass.

Enjoy your beautiful stay on the mountain.
