Geocache Description:

This cache replaces the one that went missing, and has been moved to a new location a few feet away from the original hiding place. It is easily reached by foot. No boats or canoes will be needed. Please replace as found. I checked on this cache on 05/03/14. It is still there.

Enjoy the beauty of the Okefenokee Swamp Park on this hunt. This is a fee area. The Okefenokee Swamp Park offers guided boat tours, ”water level permitting”, a train ride, live animal exhibits, museums, boardwalks, and a seasonal restaurant. Park hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Canoes can be rented “water level permitting”, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All canoes must be off water by 4:30 p.m. The park entrance is located 7 miles south of Waycross. Turn right off of U.S. 1 south onto Ga. 177 then 5 miles to the park. From Folkston it is 27 miles on U.S. 1 north then left on Ga. 177. The Okefenokee Swamp Park sign is very large and it is hard to miss. Sorry no pets allowed on park grounds. The alligators are real, so do not try to touch or feed them. Great photo opportunities abound. Cache is a small Lock-n-Lock with a few small items. It is on dry land, and can be easily reached on foot. The cache is accessible to paying customers only.
