How to get there
About 500m east from Szügy along the road leading to Nógrádmarcal you can find
Leányhegy (Daughter mountain). On the side of this mountain by the row of
cellars is a good place to park (see way point). On the steep hill it will take
you about 20 minutes to reach the remains of "földvár sánc" (a castle). On the
east side of this there is a fork shaped tree. At the base of this tree you
will find a plastic box of the dimension 25x15x8cm.

Info about the castle and maps can be found here. It is well worth walking
around the northern side where the remains are still well visible. However,
climbing up Leany mountain for only the amazing view is also well worth the
effort. Archaeological finds from inhabitants from prehistoric times have also
been found here. Szügy is one of the oldest evangelical settlements in the
area; these followers of Luther have lived here since 1577. In 1626 Gábor
Behtlen's army devestated the village. The 1657 lutheran episcopal visit found
a well orgnised parish and a denominational school in Szügy. From the middle of
the 18th century to 1790 Szügy was the captial of Nógrád county.
