This cache is an ammo can in deadfall adjacent to a “porcupine tree.” If you pick the right two-track you can drive right up to the cache in the Manistee National Forest, at least when there is no snow. We have a cabin nearby and visit several times a year, my family began their American journey with a farm not far from the cache site.
The cache is well stocked with trading items for kids and adults alike. The FTF prize in an unregistered geocoin and a GPS keychain. Please take a picture with the disposable camera, I'll post them when the film is used up.
The area is especially popular with hunters, including me, during Michigan’s firearm season, November 15 -30 each year. Please be respectful of hunters…it may even be me.
Enjoy the cache and surrounding area. It’s a great place to camp, hike, hunt, fish and canoe!
