Geocache Description:

Mystery/Multi Cache consisting of a tour of the Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.

This cache is based on some of my favorite caches to search for. I just love cemetery caches that make me look around at unique monuments. This is one of those types of caches.

The posted coords will take you to the entrance gate of the Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. From there you will have to follow these directions to gather the numbers for the final cache coordinates. Replace the letters (A-J) on the following to get the coords of the final cache...

N42° AB.CDE W079° FG.HIJ

Drive on through the gate and continue on until you see a gazebo back in the cemetery. Once you get to the gazebo you will need to find your first monument. After this first step it may be easier to just walk the rest of the way and having a compass would be very helpful...

1) Look for a monument near the Gazebo with the name of "Clifton" on it. There will be some small, low markers in front of it. Count the number of leaves above and below the rose on the Clifton marker.
F=The number of leaves

2) Now head to the North East (25°) and look for a black monument with the name of "Trabert" on it. You will need to go about a tenth of a mile to get to there. It has a beautiful etching of two birds on one side and a poem on the other. Find the date that Marion Max died.
A=The third digit of that date

3) Next continue going North East (34°)to the stone chapel near the WinterGreen Gorge. Find the keystone which has the date this chapel was constructed.
G=The second digit of that date

4) Now head to the North West (301°) and look for a cross. Btw, it's not the cross close to the chapel. This one is just over 200 feet away. You'll know you have the right one when you see names of Eugene and Raquel. When you find it count the number of letters in the last name.
H=The number of letters

5) Next head South (186°) and look for a snow-capped mountain just over 100 feet away. Find the year that this couple was married.
B=The years last digit

6) Now go West (258°) and look for a Slot Machine. You need to find out how much it costs to play this "One Armed Bandit".
D=The second digit of the price

7) Next head to my favorite marker here. Go North (336°) and you won't have to go far. Find a marker with a last name that should remind you of "Leave it to Beaver". You will need the word that is written inside a picture on that marker. The picture should be very familiar to "Lovely Rita".
E=The number of letters in that word

8) Now go West (281°) and look for a marker with twin trees on it. This is about 200 feet away.
Look for the year of the date that June was born on.
C=The last two digits added together individually

9) Head South (178°) and look for a pegasus. You will need to cross two roads, Find the year of the date that James Lee died.
J=The Last digit of that year

10) Finally go West (253°) and look for a monument that may come in handy now if you're tired. There's actually a place for two of you to rest there if needed. It's just a little more than 200 feet away. Find the year of the date that Garnet M. died on.
I=The last digit of that year

Now you have all the numbers. Put them all together using the key above and head for the final cache. It should be about a tenth of a mile away. The container is black and about the size of a film canister.
