Geocache Description:

The Welcome Sign was a community project sponsored by the people of South Lake Tahoe California. This large structure was designed and built by Dan Jones using steel beams, channel stock, re-bar, lathe and polymer modified cement. It is 25 feet tall, three feet thick. The sign was created in the shape of Lake Tahoe. Dan is an artist that lives in South Lake Tahoe. In Dan’s biography he states he “started out as a painter/firefighter, creating fanciful worlds and the characters who live in them. I found out very early that when your creating these worlds you need your own special research, to achieve the needed authenticity for the expression. One of the ways to get original research was to create my own” end quote …Hmmmm sounds like some geocachers I know! This cache and the information provided here is placed with permission from Dan Jones.
