Geocache Description:

On the Monarch Lake trail,Hiking from the west, cross the second bridge. Straight ahead -15 degrees left 25 feet uphill is a large rock. The cache is behind the large rock with lots of fallen logs on it.

Hiking from the west, cross Buchanan Creek which is the first bridge. A second bridge (two half logs)exist crossing the creek drainage during spring will be full of water. Here the trail turns south. Straight ahead is a slope. With the line of sight of the second bridge, 15 degrees left 25 feet uphill is a large rock with several logs that have fallen across the rock. The cache is behind the large rock. The cache is a quart size paint can with a can opener attached via a bungee cord. Inside the can is a log book, pencil, Sierra club wilderness survival cards, lego man on a horse, keychain, instant camera and a few other goodies. Take a few photos of yourself or the scenery. We'll post them eventually.
