Geocache Description:

A couple of different parking places, one with a potential fee about 0.7 Mi away, the other free and closer, about 0.5 Mi away (both measured as the crow flies). The approach to the cache meanders for the most part along very well defined, wide trails, then along less than 200 feet of game trail. The cache itself is located within 15 feet of the final trail. In addition to the deer, geese, and rabbits we saw we were buzzed by one snake well away from the cache, so be aware!

We don't understand how Kubuli and Pepper missed this side of the river, as it has all their favorite stuff: piles of dredger tailings covered with scrub oak and foxtails, lots of wandering paths, elevation changes and scenery changes around every turn, lots of wildlife, occasional poison oak, but no Trolls and no Star Thistle. The cache container is small and cylindrical, a little large that a Peanut Butter jar, and camo'ed. It may be a little challenging to spot, but if you get near enough it is visible.

March 15, 2003 update: The cache has been replaced with a slightly smaller container and moved just a foot or so to avoid Poison Oak. Let's hope it lasts even longer than the original!
