Repaired and new cache stuff and container. Large enough for TB and other items.
My History with this place -I have lived in this area since '76 and wanted the South Extension of the Coastal Trail - this cache is located on what would have been the route, with a trailhead at this park.
Many people in Anchorage loved the prospect of a south extension to their beloved Coastal Trail. They would be able to bike/rollerblade/ski or walk from downtown to Kincaid to the Potter Weigh Station, on a safe, greenbelt trail, a distance of over 22 miles total.
However, many people, especially those living near this cache hated the idea. They treated our public process like it was WAR. The group organized web pages, bumper stickers, fundraisers - all against the trail.
Many prominent people in town, yes you would know them (your garden expert, your stockbroker, your engineer), were rude, yelled, insulted us and swore at us at public meetings. I was often worried about even driving through this neighborhood. A few were very polite and nice, but they were the minority.
The project is not funded now, but someday the stars will align and you could be walking on a trail here.
