The Legend of Capt. Black Jack Starling III-The Return

At the end of Part II the Pirates had just sailed out of Narragansett Bay, having narrowly escaped a British trap. Capt. Black Jack Starling knew that New England waters were getting too dangerous for pirating. If he stayed it was only a matter of time until the British caught them and he knew that would mean the gallows for all of them. He set a course for Nantucket. There he provisioned the sloop for a long voyage to the French West Indies. He knew the Pirates would be relatively safe here until he could come up with a plan. By the time he sailed into Marigot on St. Martin he knew what he would do. He held a meeting of the crew. He announced that he was leaving the Pirates and settling down with Maizey. He would split the treasure they had among the crew and each man was free to do as he pleased. Jack was getting tired of being chased all the time and knew unless he tried to do something else he was a dead man sooner than later. The crew to a man voted to hit the seas again in search of ships to plunder. Jack thought their best bet was to head for the African Gold Coast. There was plenty of merchant shipping there and their chances of avoiding capture were better than here. So the crew of the Gray Pearl, with new captain Eddie Hackett, set off for Africa in search of a new ship and more treasure. Jack shaved off his beard, cut his hair, and morphed into Jacque St.Pierre. He found a sugar plantation for sale and bought it from a French nobleman who was getting old and wanted to return to France. Maizey got word to her father that she was ok and living on a plantation on St. Martin with Jack. For 5 years they thrived on St. Martin. The plantation grew and they became very wealthy. Maizey missed her father and Warren. 5 years after they were chased out of New England waters, Jack sold the plantation and booked passage on a ship heading for New York. In New York he found a bark about to sail for Warren and booked passage. On a day much like the day he had to burn The Gray Pearl, Jack stood at the rail as the bark sailed past Jacob’s Pt. He could still see the remains of the hull of the Pearl resting in the shallow water. The bark tied up at The Town Wharf in Warren. Jack and Maizey stepped ashore and into a new life. Word soon spread through town that Maizey Luther was back. They spread the story that she had escaped from the pirates in the French West Indies. There she married a French plantation owner named Jacque St.Pierre. She was now back in Warren with her new French husband. They bought a small farm on the shore of the Kickemuit and settled into a quiet life in Warren. No one suspected that the French plantation owner was really Jack Starling. Slowly the name Jack Starling faded into folklore along with the pirates and the Gray Pearl.
The cache is hidden at the Town Wharf in Warren RI. It rests near the spot where Jack and Maizey stepped ashore on their return to Warren. The cache is small, only room for a log, pencil, small trade items or TB's. I changed the clue because feedback was telling me this was too easy.
