Fairly easy walk in quiet Forestry Commission area, nice views over Strathdon.
Park at the car park waypoint, which is on a minor road south of the A97, between Glenbuchat and the Boultenstone Outdoor Center. Close to the settlement of Heugh-head. Marked as Cycle trails on some maps. There is a sign reading Bunzeach forest at the entrance to the wood. When you pull in to the layby, drive up the Forestry Commission road just a short distance to reach a newly made small car park on the left.
Follow the track for approx. 1.5km until the trees clear and you get great views looking down across Strathdon, and over to Ben Newe. Continue on trail until you reach a second fork in the trail at waypoint 1, head along here a short distance to waypoint 2 where you come off the trail for a short distance into the trees.
After finding the cache you can continue along the tracks for great distances here, great for cyclists or for keen walkers.
There are no bins or facilities here so come prepared to remove all waste, human and canine! Many thanks to Liz Wallace at the Forestry Commission for permission to place this cache.
