Geocache Description:


This is another Cache in the "Welcome To" series. North Ogden was settled in 1850, and sits at the base of Mt. Ben Lomond. There used to be an aboundance of fruit orchards located in North Ogden. In 1932 the city held it's first Cherry Days Celebration, this year 2007 is the 75th anniversary which is held on July 4th each year.

A famous landmark in North Ogden is "The Stump" which was an old cottonwood tree stump carved into the shape of a drinking fountain. Today the stump is located at the north East cornor of Acres parking lot. (a virtual cache)

Limited Telephone service began in North Ogden on June 15,1905 and Utah Power and Light began offering electricity in 1913.

This Cache is an easy drive up, just off the road. Please be very careful as there is alot of traffic on the road, also keep an eye out for muggles.
