Geocache Description:

Located on our property in Northern Lower Michigan, This watchful old pal looks after our place....

Curran is located at the junction of M-65 and M-72 in Mitchell Township in eastern Alcona County. This community was started by lumberman Phillip Curran in 1875 and the Loud & Sons Lumber Company who built a narrow gauge railroad there in 1890. It managed to survive after the lumber boom, primarily because of its location at the crossroads, (also referred to as "Flynn’s Corners), but also due to its location to several lakes, streams and recreational trails - many of them with catchy names, like Lake-in-the-Green, Chin-Whisker Hill and Buck’s Pond. Over a quarter of the township lies in the Huron National Forest. If you like two-trackin’ in Michigan’s great "outback," this is the place to come! Stop in at the eatery next door for refreshemnts and maybe entertainment!! The cache is located on our property, Geocachers have permission to hunt the cache, just have your GPSr on you if someone askes any questions, Team Cammo hangs out up here on weekends but needs help in making sure the place stays secure, and we trust our Caching friends to be our additional eyes and ears, if anything seems amiss, drop us a note or call the number located on a card at the rear door, hope to see you!!
