The cache is located away from the downtown core near the camp ground, skate park and play area. A long beach filled with smooth skipping stones runs along the shoreline. Lots of muggles may be in the area. Stealth is required.
Kaslo
Kaslo is a picturesque city located on the north arm of Kootenay Lake. It is the home of the restored sternwheeler the S.S. Moyie - the oldest surviving passenger vessel of its kind in the world. Kaslo is also home to dozens of artisans of all varieties and the shops are filled with examples of their respective arts.
The town in rich with history from its early days in silver mining. The remnants of those endeavours still can be found in the surrounding mountains in the form of abandoned mines, tools and buildings.
This cache is a result of my stay at Panorama Lodge in Mirror Lake a short drive away from Kaslo. The owners of the lodge, Karl, and his family have just recently taken up geocaching. Karl was bemoaning the fact that there weren’t more caches in Kaslo so I have placed my first attempt at a cache just for him and his family. Karl has adopted the cache and will look after it here in Kaslo.
The cache is in a camo’d 35mm film canister. Please bring a writing stick.
