THE ABOVE COORDINATES ARE NOT THE COORDINATES FOR THE CACHE LOCATION. Instead, they will lead you to a historical marker where you will have to gather information to solve the puzzle to determine the location of the cache.
My first mystery/puzzle cache is also a history lesson. Container is large enough for trade items and several travel bugs. Park on San Leandro Street. Stage 1 faces St. Francis Street. You shouldn't have to bushwhack your way to stage 2 until the last few feet. Just walk back down to the stop sign at San Leandro Street, turn right, then walk back up the hill through the grassy area. BET YOU HAD NO IDEA THIS PLACE EXISTED. I DIDN'T!
I have driven by this spot dozens and dozens of times on my way back and forth from my credit union. One day in June of 2007, I guess the sun was just right, and I caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of my eye. "What the heck is THAT??!!" Went home and did a little internet research, and a cache was born!
The cache has two stages, both on the grounds of the Warren Angus Ferris Cemetery. The first one is the site of the historical marker. This is smack-dab in the middle of a residential neighborhood, and there are no fences to define the perimeter of the burial ground. The final stage is fairly secluded, depending on the time of year and foliage and whatnot, but if spotted by the residents of nearby houses, you could say you were looking for grave markers.
Remember, the physical remains of over 100 souls including many children are buried here. Please show appropriate respect while looking for the cache. Vandals prior to 1970 did not!
THE PUZZLE: Answer the following questions correctly to obtain the coordinates to Stage 2:
N 32° 48.(A)(B)(C) W 096° 42.(D)(E)(F)
