This simple two stage multicache will introduce you to one of Livermore's sister cities. After reading some of the details on the plaque at the posted coordinates, you may find yourself wondering if this "secret city" might be the birthplace of that infamous Venona character! If true, it certainly sheds some light on why he feels right at home here in Livermore.
Anyway, in order to find the cache you will need to do a bit of research here to produce the final coordinates:
N 37° 41.ABC W 121° 49.DEF
- A = last digit of the year
- B = second numeral in the former name of the city
- C = last digit of the population
- D = middle digit of the population
- E = third digit of the year minus one
- F = number of letters in the current name of the city minus one
The cache is a camouflaged container about the size of a film can. Please don't clutter it up with small trade items. Please leave the cache in place; just open it and sign the logsheet.
IMPORTANT: Because of the proximity to the airport, please hunt for this cache during daylight hours only.

UPDATE 07/08/10: The area around the original hide location was drastically cut back in October 2009, making it much less suitable. The cache has now been replaced in a new location a short distance away, and the "puzzle" has been adjusted to produce the new final coordinates.
