General Info
Stealing an idea from WI Robin’s event, I decided to disperse my
geocoins at an event as well. But there is a catch of course. For
people to get a geocoin they also have to complete a short cache
quest.
The geocoins listed on the page here are not the only geocoins
available. There are a few personal geocoins (listed below) that
are not trackable and will also be part of the POT.
So, come out enjoy some time with fellow cachers and hit some
caches in the area get a geocoin or two to put in caches and a
smiley for an event and doing caches in the area.
When and Where
10am - Start time - Cachers can pick up event sheets to stamp at
the pavilion.
1200-1300 Lunch break
1300-1430 Return to turn in event sheets and get a geocoin.
1000-1430 is for anyone who wants to just hang around and
chat.
This event is at a park next to the BRF Chamber of Commerce. There
is a shelter and a playground for kids. Restrooms are available and
geodogs are welcome.
Refreshments
Drinks will be provided along with some basic snacks. Those who
come are welcome to bring snacks to share as well.
Game Play
Here is the deal, on the day of the event come to the coordinates
and pick up your caching sheet. There will be 9 caches listed on
the sheet. To be able to get a coin you need to have at least 4
stamps on your cache sheet. Here is the trick… only 6 of the nine
caches will have an ink stamp in it and you will not know which
ones. Now the first 3 people to get all six stamps will have a
choice of an unactivated geocoin for their own. This will be on a
first complete first choice.
Now for those who get 4 stamps, you will be able to draw at random
from the POT, a bag which all trackable and nontrackable coins will
be in. If you get a trackable coin you take it with you and release
it later when you are caching. If you get a personal coin it is
yours to keep.
For people who already did some of the caches in the area I do
have an exception for you.
