This cache is located at the Mt. Tom State Reservation. The round trip hike is about 1.8 miles. The trails vary from flat and smooth to steep and rocky.
The container is a large lock and lock box.
This cache was placed in order to fulfill the requirement for Pick a Card ~ Any Card (GC13GGX).
I am providing coordinates for 2 parking areas. The 1st coordinates are the closest to the cache, but a $2 fee may be required during the weekends. The 2nd parking area is free, but adds about a 1/2 mile to the overall hike.
I am also providing some coordinates for a nice picnic spot. The trail up to this point is stroller friendly. This could be a nice spot for the somebody to prepare a meal while you are out looking for the 2 of Hearts.
The suggested trail starts at N 42 16.033, W 072 37.087. From this point on the trails vary from steep and rocky to a nice stroll through the forest.
The route to the cache is along marked trails, and only the last 125 feet or so requires leaving the trail. The final location will require some climbing over large rocks.
The total round trip distance is about 1.8 miles.
There is a little something in the cache for the FTF.
