Do you believe in what goes bump in the night? The sound of foot steps down halls with no one there? A cold breath on the back of your neck? A bodiless sigh in your ear? Now is your chance to find out...Welcome to Haunted Ventura!!!
No bush whacking required.
San Buenaventura City Hall
Built in 1912 and used for almost 60 years as the Ventura County Courthouse, it is no real surprise City Hall is haunted. In 1958 this building housed the infamous trial of “Ma” Duncan. She was sentenced to the gas chamber for having her pregnant daughter in law murdered. Charles Manson also had a short stay here. But the really spooky part of City Hall is off limits to the public, the old women’s jail on the 3rd floor. Most of the strange events that happen here are attributed to an unknown woman who hung herself in her cell during the early 1940’s.
