Bay Roberts Heritage Trail, known by many as Mad Rock.
The cache is a few climbs along the trail and it's the highest point that offers a beautiful view of Bell Island, Portugal Cove light house, Upper Island Cove, Spaniards Bay, Bishops Cove and Bay Roberts.
The terrain is not recommended for children traveling alone.
Access the trail at the end of the road past Mad Rock Cafe; you will come to a dead end parking area, if you go any further, you'll be in the Atlantic ocean. Take the main trail South East and keep right on the first fork of trail. You will see Jugglers, and if you're laughing too hard, you will come across a second Red Outhouse, if need be before a nice climb through the rocky cliff. Be careful of your footing; it's a "No Dental Path".
It's covered with a removable rock; at edge, a drop down a few steps will not get you into trouble; look down to your right at the Historic Grave Site and Red Cellar; directly ahead is Bell Island.
Don't forget your camera; some beautiful pictures can be taken.
