Geocache Description:

Return to Mission 7: Crab Creek (Project APE)

Many were sad to see our own Maryland Project A.P.E. cache disappear
Mission 7: Crab Creek (Project APE).
Numerous owners kept the cache alive, great heroics were performed during a recent flood period to keep the cache safe, but after all that effort; the cache still disappeared in October 2006. It logged over 700 successful visits and who knows how many unsuccessful ones and repeat visits in its 5 years. Many folks coveted the APE icon.

Well, the period of mourning is up. A new cache could never completely replace the old one, and certainly it won’t gain you an APE icon or add to your total in that category, but it has been said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

So, your new Mission, shall we call it "Mission 7b" is to Return to Project A.P.E. cache. The new cache is of the same legendary proportions, similarly lettered and stenciled. It sits in nearly the same spot and covered with a big pile of sticks. It is freshly stocked with APE wares and currently contains an empty PROJECT APE logbook.

This cache will never get the attention of the other, but hopefully it will have a nice long run. FTF prize is a golden dollar. Enjoy.

Congrats to mukil for FTF!! Their first!!

Note PARK HOURS: SUNRISE - SUNSET, for now the alternate parking is HIGHLY recommended.
