Geocache Description:


This cache is located in the Markham Heritage Estates Subdivision. Markham Heritage Estates was established in the 1980’s and is the first subdivision in North America that is set aside for historic houses that would otherwise be demolished, since heritage homes cannot always be preserved on their original sites. It is a specially designed 43-lot heritage subdivision owned by the Town. The subdivision was recognized in 2000 when the Town of Markham was awarded the first ever Heritage Canada Foundation Prince of Wales Prize. It is a small neighbourhood where everyone knows each other. Usually outsiders don’t have a need to be there – so cachers may feel conspicuous being in the area. Please respect the neighbourhood when visiting. The hint will tell you exactly where the cache is. I hope you enjoy the character of the neighbourhood! You will need to bring your own writing instrument.
