Tunxis Wildlife Management Area, Hartland
This cache can be found in the often overlooked Tunxis Wildlife Management Area in West Hartland, CT. It's a very pretty hike, with a wide, flat dirt path into the forest. The huge amount of trees keeps the area cool in the summer. The cache isn't too far in, so we think this would be a very good hike and easy cache for little ones. We would even recommend bringing a picnic lunch - there's plenty of places you could stop and rest.
There's a large parking area before the trailhead, (coordinates N 42.01.488/ W 073.00.246) but motor vehicles are not allowed on the trail in order to preserve peace for the woodland critters.
Follow the trail, and take the RIGHT fork when the trail splits. There may be some GPS bounce, but the coordinates will get you to the general area. The hidey spot selected is what we considered a "good cache place", so if you're an avid geocacher, it might make a light bulb appear over your head.
You're looking for a medium sized blue diver's box. The hinges are sort of stiff, so be firm but careful when opening.
