THE GLOBAL CURRENCY EXCHANGE
Anyone who travels internationally inevitably returns home with a pocket full of foreign coins and currency. This cache provides an opportunity to exchange your international coins or notes for others from a different part of the world.
This cache is located in a relatively remote area of Scott Park on the east side of Iowa City. It contains a handful of small denomination domestic and international coins. If you remove a coin from the cache, please leave another in exchange. Please do not leave other trade items in the container as this is meant as a "cash-only cache." Geocoins and travelbugs are OK if they fit in the container. Regardless of whether you have something to trade, everyone is welcome to sign the log. Bring a pen.
The cache is a small plastic jar approximately 5” tall and covered in black tape. Since the cache is hidden in an area prone to flooding during heavy rains, the Lego Crew has placed it in a location that should keep it well up out of harm’s way. Getting to the cache will require 60-120’ of light bushwhacking (we placed the cache wearing shorts), depending on the direction from which you approach the cache. You should not have a problem with muggles except for during spring/fall soccer games or practices. You may even want to begin your search by visiting the nearby soccer fields.
When placing the cache, we noted several animal trails in the area. Please try to avoid creating or using any social trails or deer trails that may be in the area.
Cache is located within the fenced boundary of the park. It has been placed with permission from the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department. Park hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. A parking lot, near the cache, is accessible from Scott Boulevard. While in the area, try your skills at SM IC’s skillfully hidden Scott Park Micro and Scott Park #2 caches.
