Geocache Description:

There is parking within 200m and the walk to the event area is on a level road; there are no steps this year.

This year's event will be held at the Goose Bay Ground Search and Rescue Training Cabin near the Terrington Basin seaplane docks. There is plenty of room for cachers to meet and greet and swap many geocaching stories. The cabin is equipped with a fridge and stove as well as a fireplace, and a couple of couches and chairs. However there are no beds available. There will be a local cache container loaded up as usual for cachers to grab any needed items for other caches. TRAVEL BUGS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO VISIT.

The Event will start at 1:54PM with registration and the search for the local cache that goes with the Event. The barbecue will be available after 3PM on Sunday so bring your own choice of food for the grill. Salad will be provided and a cost of $2 per person will help pay for this.

There are 6 caches within 1km of the site for those who would like to rack up their experience level. If you wish to do some canoeing or kayaking, the cabin is located less than 50m from Terrington Basin. Mr. Popcorn has access to some PFDs if required.

Please let Mr. Popcorn know if you are planning to attend. This is a great opportunity to meet the other cachers in the area, be they old or new. Thanks to the efforts of Arctic Nomad & Avalanche, Dave & Meg, Volanges and all the others who have been promoting our sport/hobby/habit over the past year, I believe that there are 100+ cachers in the Lake Melville area to look for the 190+ caches. All ages are welcome and this will be a family-type gathering.

SO COME ON OUT AND ENJOY THE DAY. C U THERE.
