Arkitektfirman Schmid, Hammer & Lassen från Århus i Danmark har ritat biblioteket. De har även bland annat ritat nationalbiblioteket "Den sorte diamant" i Köpenhamn. Så här beskrivs formen av biblioteket:
"De stora glaspartierna öppnar verksamheten mot stads- och parkrummet och utstrålar aktivitet och liv samtidigt som de stora träden omsluter biblioteksrummet och skapar ro och koncentration. Bevarandet av alla träd kring byggnaden, biblioteketsfasadens transparans och byggnadens utskjutande del över Nissan medverkar till att träd, himmel, vatten och årstidernas skiftningar blir en del av biblioteksrummet. Gränserna mellan ute och inne suddas ut."

The architect company Schmid, Hammer & Lassen from Århus in Denmark has designed the library. They have also among other things designed the national library "Den sorte diamant" in Copenhagen. This is how the shape of the library is described:
"The big glass areas opens the activity against the town and the park and radiates activity and life at the same time as the big trees connects to the library and creates quiet and concentration. The conserving of all trees around the building, the librarys glass façade's transparency and the building's extension out over the river Nissan contributes to that trees, sky, water and the seasons' shifts becomes a part of the library room. The boundaries between up and in is smeared out."
