I have been looking at caches in the area that have been temporarily disabled for a while now and it looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to have it reposted, it will be no problem. Just drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link of your cache.

I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

Geocache Description:

This is my fourth cache placed in my Waterford Parks series. It's at Jordan Mill Park off of Trumbull Rd, a side street off of Great Neck Road, in Waterford, CT

According to the CT Coastal Access Website, "Jordan Mill Park provides great wildlife observation and relaxation in the middle of a subdivision." Jordan Mill Park is a section of land across from the Jordan Grist Mill. In 1709, the powers that be decided that the grist mill could be set up "upon the falls of Jordan Brook, where it falleth into the cove." Mill operations start in 1737 and ceased in 1918. IN 1915 R.B. Wall said, "It was the kind of mill the poets sing about... back in the days when the old men of Waterford were young."

The cache is right off off of the loop trail and right on another one. Good luck finding it. If the first person to find it could bring along a small ziplock bag for the log that would be great, I seemed to have left all of mine behind and didn't feel like buying another box of ziplock bags, I have 4...... at my apartment in Manhattan.

Coords were averaged out over 60 readings with 15 feet of accuracy. Please rehide this cache exactly as you found it as it is right off of a trail and will be seen if you don't.

Parking is available at N 41 20.285 W 072 08.492 altho I reccomend parking at the State Boat Launch at the end of Dock Rd in Waterford and Kayaking/Canoeing up the cove to the cache.
