Geocache Description:

Border Watch

This cache will bring you to a memorial depicting the marking of a colonies border between SA and Victoria. The main reason for going through the hardships of marking a border was due to new settlements being developed on both sides of the border leading to Law and Order problems.

The Monument was constructed as part of the Centenery of Federation project in 2001 and was during the 150th year of the appointment of the first Surveyor General of Victoria .

There is heaps of interesting reading at this location and to find the final cache location you will learn a bit more about how hard marking was back in the 1800's

We hope you enjoy this quick break from your trips either side of the Border.
