Geocache Description:

Two names, two men from different stations in life, both remembered in this part of Burnside. An easy multiple set in pleasant surroundings with some local history.

The coordinates will take you to Warland Reserve. Park off the main road in Sitters Memorial Drive. The Reserve is a good spot to take out the thermos and have a break from caching. You will note that the Reserve, an initiative of Rotary and Rotaract, was opened in ABB0. Follow Sitters Memorial Drive, on foot or by car, to a waypoint on the road at: S 34 56.3(B-A) A E 138 40.2A (B-4) The Allan E. Cousins Reserve on the right contains a good remnant stand of Grey Box. On the left is a ‘plant hospice ’ for native plants rescued from construction sites, planted here to recover and destined for revegetation areas in the district. The cache is a short distance from the waypoint, off the road about twelve paces, down the slope and is hidden in “a typical place”. The container is a 200 ml Sistema cliplock, so small swaps only. Thank you. It is of passing interest that, of a Saturday afternoon around 1947, a friend and I used to run our gravity-powered go-cart down Greenhill Road in this area, with one making the run while the other kept watch for the occasional oncoming car. (See Gallery) The cache contains the answers to the questions posed in the cache name.
