Geocache Description:

You will love the views from up here I know i do.
Its an eclipse tin that you are looking for.

This is a 5km return trip for this one but it is worth the walk. If you want you can camp up here for one night with the best views in Noosa. Camping is free. There is water, a shelter shed and table. You could ride your horse or Mt bike up here.

Yar"liman"dha: Yar"leeman"dah: These are the original Gubbi Gubbi name terms for a lookout place from the ranges where one could see the extremities of the Noosa River, particularly Lake Cootharaba. The name meaning infers "The Calling Out Place". This may have been an important site for oral calling to enter another"s territory or for sending up smoke fire signals for messages and invitations.
With views of Lake Cootharaba and the shores of Noosa it is no wonder early settlers were drawn here despite impracticalities the terrain imposed on everyday life.

Carrier John Simpson in 1916 certainly refreshed himself with these spectacular views, as he used some of the tracks to transport goods to and from Cooran.

During wet weather Simpson"s carrying business to Cooran kept him from home for up to one week. The Simpson brothers camped on the dirt floor of Doyle"s mill on Western Branch Road before constructing the old house where the park on Shepperson"s lane is now located.

From this vantage point the community of Kin Kin took warning of the huge dust storms that came from the west in the 1930s.

In 1937 an enormous fire engulged Wahpunga Range upon which this lookout is located. The fire spread in the Cootharaba area from near Twin Hill Views Lookout to past Kinmond Creek Road.
