Crooked Jack Traditional Cache

Route follows an ancient and crooked lane,past some long deserted homesteads,journey time approximately one hour return,with an optional extra thirty minutes.
(Caution;Please do not enter these buildings,many of which may be in danger of collapse)
At;
N 54 54.059'
W 008 24.309' , one passes an ancient well.
Views include the Derryveagh and Bluestack Mountain ranges, Ronanish Island and across Boylagh Bay to Dooey,Nairin,Portnoo,Slieve League,Slieve Tuohy and out to Glen Head.

Turn right Westward, on to Falcorrib pier.
This pier was recently refurbished and delivers an amazing experience if the sea is in swell (which is frequently). Swimming is not recommended.
The pier was originally developed to aid the landing of tailors 'soap stone',mined nearby.
(Visiting the derilict mines is strongly, not advised,due to many inherent dangers).

If time and weather permits, it is recommended that you continue Westward to Black Point (N 54 53.752' W 008 24. 616' (a name that explains itself on arrival),for the geological and shoreline views that breathtakingly appear,before your return by same route.
With the frequent crashing swell,these impressive waves finally come ashore after their thousands mile journey from the North American Continent.
Some say, they resemble white horses/unicorns, galloping earnestly, from the Atlantic to the Irish Shore.
