You don't need to walk anywheres near six miles. This cache is located near perhaps my favorite spot in Lee County. Cache is not located inside of the preserve, but I would strongly recommend going inside and walking the boardwalk. One can see a variety of wildlife, including alligators and oocasionally otters and wild pigs. It is interesting to come a various times of the year to see the effects of the change in seasons and water levels.
Cache is now a micro-small cache and can be accessed from free parking spots outside of gate. There is pay parking and facilities inside the gate.
