Another cache along the Wappinger Greenway Trail.
This cache brings you down along the Wappinger Greenway Trail just
a bit to a spot that overlooks the Wappingers Creek. Don't get your
hopes up too much, it's not much of a view, most of the watery
parts have weeds, but we picked a spot that at least had some sort
of view of the creek.
We've given this cache a terrain rating of three for the following
reasons. Depending on where you park to get access to the Greenway
trail will determine the amount of elevation change you will
encounter. From one parking area you will definitely encounter a 3
star terrain. From what we would consider the closer trail head,
most of the trail is about a 1.5, however, there is one stretch for
about 50-60' that is probably a 3 star terrain rating.
Additionally, there are a couple of spots where the trail is about
a foot from a significant drop off (so watch the young 'uns here).
There is also some ducking under/going over trees here and
there.
The cache is only about 20' or so from the trail, so don't feel a
need to bushwhack. Please keep the trail proximity in mind as you
are signing the log book - you know the drill.
