Hwy 36 west of Platina to forest service road 30, 10 miles to forest service road 29, a few more miles to forest service road 28n27, just a little farther to a spur road that leads to the mine. The last road is 4X4 only, but is just a short walk to the mine if you don't have a 4X4.
Another in my series of rock related caches. I have been wanting to place a cache here for quite a while.
The cache is near a Rhodonite mine. Most of the black rocks you will see here are pink inside. The pink color is caused by manganese which oxidises very dark brown/black.

The mine itself sits on forest service land and is under claim by the San Francisco rock and gem club, so don't get caught taking any rocks.
The cache sits above the best diggings to see some nice Rhodonite head down hill to these cords.

The mine gets it's name from the spider web patterns within the rocks.
