bigred_librarian: This one has come up missing a few too many times. I'll think of something different. One of my first hides and was never really done that well.

Geocache Description:

Located near the Bridge of Hope separating Sauk Rapids and Sartell. Hike or bike the paved trail. The bike trail turns into a seldom used road and then back into the bike trail. Do not go north of the trail towards the railroad.

Cache will be fairly easy to find. Bring the kids and some geo swag for trade. My children get really bummed out when I can only sign the log at my finds. My kids sacrificed quite a few items from their personal stash for my first hide.

FTF = $1 prize

Park at N 45 35.857' W 094 10.989' which is the boat landing at the Sauk Rapids Municipal Park. If you bring the kids along make sure you set aside some time to play at this neat little park by the Mississippi River or take the bike trail over to Sartell.

The Bridge of Hope is a concrete girder bridge that spans the Mississippi River between Sartell, Minnesota and Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. The bridge was completed eight months early, aided by favorable weather and trouble-free construction. It was built in 1995 and was designed by Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Jim Hill Group.

The bridge is named in honor of Jacob Wetterling, a boy who was abducted from St. Joseph, Minnesota in 1989. The name was chosen by a group of high school students who wanted to memorialize Wetterling and other missing children. (visit link)

Take some time to view the cool arches holding up this bridge at N 45 36.043' W 094 11.204'. While viewing the arches think about those children who have been abducted and "Hope" they get back to their loved ones.
