Bell's Gap Puzzle Mystery Cache

This four part multicache will take you along the Bell's Gap Rail Trail near Bellwood, PA. Please observe the hours of the trail - from 1/2 hour after sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset. Round trip is approximately 4 miles. Some bushwacking required.
This is a multi-stage puzzle cache. The first stage is NOT at coordindates listed above. The coordinates listed above are the parking coordinates. To figure out the first coordinates you will need to visit the Bell's Gap Rail Trail web page. (visit link)
Stage 1 is not a container. To find the coordinates to stage 1: N40 37.The year the Bellwood-Tyrone portion of the railroad ceased operation minus 1,688.
W078 22.The year the spur was converted to a standard gauge line minus 1,424.
At stage 3, complete the puzzle. Then to get the coordinates, turn the puzzle over. You'll need to complete two and all pieces are used for each puzzle.
Final stage is an ammo box packed full of goodies for the kids and the kids at heart.
This trail will take you across quiet creeks - following the folds of the Allegheny mountains. Stop and take in the stunning views of Tuckahoe Valley. Enjoy the majesty of the rolling mountains and the sparkling blue waters of the reservoir below. Slow down and look for forgotten railroad spikes - they can still be found along the trail, rusted and corroded. Hold one in your hand and imagine the lives of the men who once made their living clearing a trail through the mountain and driving spikes into the ground.
This trail is very near and dear to us. We've been hiking and xcountry skiing on it for many years. We're so glad to be able to combine two of our favorite interests in this way and share them with you.
