Geocache Description:

If you like cemeteries this is for you. No bushwhacking, easy access, easy parking.

Cache is at the Amesville Cemetery, formerly known as the Mudsock Cemetery. This is one of the oldest cemeteries in the state. Dates on tombstones and historical accounts suggest that burials began in 1805-1810. Birthdates on stones are well back into the 1700s. Visitors will note that the earliest graves are in the southwest corner, nearest Route 550, and that these tombstones face slightly more northwest than do later stones. The following website is well worth reading for those interested in Mudsock history. (visit link)
This is my second of two caches in Amesville cemeteries. The other can be found here (visit link)

Cache is in a round lock-n-lock plastic container about 5" across and 2" deep. It is coverd with camo tape. Cache contains log and many small trade items. You do not have to cross any fences to find cache. As always, please respect the graves and markers, which by the way, you do not have to touch to find the cache. Please replace as found.
