Parking is available at several sites off Blue Rd and the walk is short to gz. Varied terrain and ratings depending upon approach and seasonal water flow. Longwood Lakes dam and joining banksides are part of the Rockaway River WMA.
For my 100th hide, i wanted a unique location a little different then the cache sitting in the woods, so...there are three approaches to gz: 1.Upper parking spot and then descending down the steep hill going below the dam. 2.Parking by bridge and walking up West bank 3.Parking by bridge, crossing over it and wading accross in low water period(40-50 feet below dam). This 2 tube is hidden in a location that takes you near to the falling water but not in it. The terrain ratings will vary depending upon water flow and snow/ice conditions. Cache may be disabled in extreme high water and severe winter conditions. "PLEASE" use common sense. The area also sees mugglers trout fishing so please do not hunt for cache with onlookers. Take time time to replace cover stones as to conceal and keep stone resting in front the cache. Please snug tighten only don't over tighten to insure possible breakage. There is some poison ivy in the area but avoidable(A memorable adventure."PLEASE"work cache up snuggly in hidding location.Hint gives good description of location. TQ
