Geocache Description:

Welcome to Boudreaux's Big Adventure!

Let me tell you a story about a pup named Boudreaux.

Boudreaux was a Cajun pup displaced by Hurricane Katrina. He was adopted by his new family who live fairly close by. His new family wanted to do right by him and therefore they had him enrolled in Puppy Kindergarten, held at the nearby veterinarian's office. I was the class instructor. It was the largest class we had ever had, ten puppies strong and many friends and family along. On the third night of class, the lesson was going to be "the motivated come" - how to get your dog to come back when called. Before we ever got there, however, a small child in the class opened up the door of the clinic in a fit of misbehavior. Boudreaux rushed out, a black lab pup lost in the black night. He ran across the street and disappeared, as his owner called frantically for him. We disbanded the class and began the search for Boudreaux.
We abandoned the search two hours later. For the next week, we posted signs everywhere. I went to every pound in town looking for him. Do you know how hard it is to find a specific Black Lab puppy at the shelter? So many that could be him. His family mourned. They had to celebrate Thanksgiving without him. We were beginning to fear the worst. Then we got the call. Boudreaux had been found! Turns out he was living it up that week right here, in this very area. He was found by a resident of the nearby duplex community, who recognized his description from the signs.
This cache is dedicated to Boudreaux, his big adventure and happy reunion. It is also dedicated to people who love dogs, and the dogs that love them back.
