Il cache si trova in un punto molto romantico e poco conosciuto sul lago di Como e quasi di fronte alla villa di un famoso George!

The cache is in a very romantic and almost unknown place on the lake of Como, almost in front the house of a famous George!
Careno è una graziosa frazione del comune di Nesso situata nel punto in cui le opposte rive del lago di Como si fanno più vicine. A lago vi è la bella chiesetta romanica di San Martino la cui origine risale al XII secolo. All’interno della chiesetta ci sono affreschi di notevole interesse come la “Crocifissione con due Santi”, “S. Antonio Abate” e una “Annunciazione”.
Al cache si può arrivare dal lago in battello (fermata Careno) oppure in macchina. In questo caso parcheggiate a N 45° 53.927 E 009° 09.256, vicino al cimitero e prendete la ripida strada a gradini che scende in direzione IMBARCADERO. Il cache è un canister contenente log book ma non la penna (portatevela) e si trova nei pressi della chiesetta di San Martino. Se la chiesetta è chiusa e volete visitarla all’interno chiedete ai gestori della vicina trattoria di aprirvela. Cache molto raccomandata la sera, con la possibilità da maggio a ottobre di gustare pesce di lago nella piccola Trattoria del Porto.

Careno is a small village near Nesso, in a point where the opposite sides of the lake are very close. Near the lake there is the lovely St. Martino little church, a romanic building of 12° century. Inside the church there there are frescoes of remarkable interest such as the “Crocifissione con due Santi”, “S. Antonio Abate” and “Annunciazione”.
You can arrive to the cache either by boat (stop Careno) or by car. In this case park at N 45° 53.927 E 009° 09.256 near the cemetery and take the steep road with steps that goea down following the direction IMBARCADERO. The cache it is canister containing a log book but a not pen (bring it with you) and it near St. Martino’s church. If the church is closed and you want to visit it inside, ask to the managers of the near restaurant and they will open it. This cache is recommended at night: from May to October you can also dinner in the near restaurant (Trattoria del Porto) where you can taste the lake fish.
